Part Time | 20 Hours Per Week | Weekdays, Evenings, Saturdays

Salary | $12.50 per hour


This position provides part time custodial support to Union Baptist Church (UBC) and is supervised by the UBC Head Custodian who is responsible for the direction of all maintenance services on the grounds and within the Church.

With Supervision, General Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:

  • Assisting with the setup of facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, events, etc.
  • Cleaning and sanitizing restrooms/bathrooms using established practices and procedures.
  • Cleaning, dusting, and wiping furniture; sweeping, moping, or vacuuming floors; empty/cleaning wastebaskets and trash containers; replacing light bulbs; refilling restroom dispensers.
  • Using and maintaining assigned power equipment and hand tools; buffers, auto scrubbers, extractors, high pressure washers, high speed buffers and vacuums, brooms, mops, and squeegees for the cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, furniture, etc. Use of ladders will be required in some work assignments.
  • Assisting with inventory control and security.
  • Maintaining compliance with all OSHA rules, and UBC safety regulations and guidelines.
  • Performing other related custodial duties as required.

Basic Qualifications

  • A high school diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of 3 years related work experience preferred

Desired Qualifications

  • Clear written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrates the ability to work well with staff, congregants, and community.
  • Have essential aptitude and physical capabilities in these areas: memory, attention to detail, following directions, understanding basic repair techniques, calculating, evaluating, organizing, operating machinery, moving, lifting objects weighing up to 50lbs.

Two references (1 personal and 1 professional) are required prior to an offer of employment.
